Jeff
Stewart Dixon is a DC area songwriter, producer, and recording
artist with 15 years of production and song writing experience.
He is a member of Songwriters Association of Washington, The
Songwriters Guild of America and the Washington Area Music
Association. He is the owner of Alembic Records
and Alchemy Sounds Theater Company, Inc.
He holds a BS degree music and music production from Syracuse
University. His band Alchemy consists of
a revolving cast of the Baltimore / Washington’s area’s
finest studio and performance jazz musicians. Current and
past members include Jeff Corbett (Drums) Alan Young (Bass),
John Ware (guitar) Donnesse Monique (Vocals) Mark Prince (Drums)
Seth Kibel (Saxophone) Marshall Keys (Saxophone) and Alexander
Mitchell (Violin).
In 1999 Jeff was awarded a national grant from the Arlington
Cultural Alliance Division to produce and perform a rock musical
he wrote titled Magic Music Myth... about
a courtroom trial between God and the Devil. This was the
first appearance of Alchemy and since this time both Alchemy
and Magic Music Myth have appeared in various forms in the
Washington DC area and New York City.
Cosmic Joke is Alchemy’s 2nd professionally
produced and released CD. Jeff is proud to include in the
line up of Cosmic Joke his father Mike Dixon
who performs banjo on Return for You. Mike also co-wrote
Truckin' Cowboys with Jeff and... Mike wrote Return
for You. Mike Dixon is a professional woodworker and
luthier whose guitars can be heard on Robert Randolph
and the Family Band CDs. Like most musicians Jeff/Alchemy
harbors the dream of playing his “Groovin’, Jammin’,
Toe-Tappin Delightfully Infectious Pop Rock” across
America ...and the world. Alchemy’s new CD Cosmic
Joke is currently being promoted by Foley Entertainment.
